Michael began his real estate career in 1985, fresh out of Dalhousie University, joining the Pat King Real Estate office in Clayton Park. At the time Clayton Park was just under development and
Michael’s career exploded as he sold many residential homes, apartment buildings, small commercial properties and land. During his early years Michael partnered with a fellow commercial agent and
excelled both in commercial sales as well as residential properties. During this time, Michael owned a property management company that managed many properties for a group of local avid investors.
When the Pat King office closed its doors, Michael joined the Montreal Trust Offices in the Bayer’s Road Shopping Centre. Many award winning agents came through the doors of the Montreal Trust Offices.
Michael was a consistent MLS® award winner for many years working at a variety of offices throughout Metro such as Home Life Pat King, Sutton Group, Atlantis, Quest Realty specializing in New Home
Construction, ReMax and finally HomeWorks Realty an independent brokerage owned by his wife Lisa. During his time at HomeWorks Realty Michael was by then a registered R2000 builder himself, and ran his
own construction company Signature Home Construction for several years. Michael closed his construction business as a condition of his franchise agreement when he and Lisa purchased the Assist 2 Sell
franchise in 2001 and opened the first Assist 2 Sell office in Canada. Assist 2 Sell HomeWorks Realty has been a consistent award winning (top ten offices) in all North American each year since opening
in 2001. Throughout his long career Michael has sold thousands of residential homes, new construction homes, and commercial properties.
Outside of his busy real estate profession, Michael is a resident of Portland Hills in Dartmouth where he resides with this wife Lisa and two children. He is an avid investor and golfer and enjoys spending time at his recreation home in the prestigious Reunion Golf Resort in Kissimmee Florida. Michael is a fitness enthusiast and weight trains daily in his personal extensive home gym. He is a licensed airplane pilot and is currently working towards his dream of owning an ocean going trawler.
Lisa relocated to Nova Scotia from Toronto Ontario in 1986 to attend university. After completing her post secondary education, Lisa obtained her real estate license in 1993 and
joined HomeLife Pat King Real Estate in the Bayer’s Road Shopping Centre. Lisa approached her Real Estate Education in a similar manner as her University education and systematically
studied course after course to ensure that the quality of professionalism and expertise she delivered to her clients was of the highest standard. In 1995 Home Life closed its doors
and Lisa joined Sutton Group. It was during this time that Lisa completed the majority of her courses towards her FRI designation which she was awarded in 2002. The FRI designation
is the highest designation awarded in Canada which acknowledges expertise in many areas of real estate including appraisal, mortgage financing, home construction, Real Estate Law,
Ethics etc. In 2000 Lisa earned her Brokers license and opened up an independent Brokerage under the name of HomeWorks Realty Ltd. In 2001 Lisa along with her husband Michael purchased
the Assist 2 Sell franchise for Nova Scotia and opened the first full service discount brokerage in Atlantic Canada. Assist 2 Sell HomeWorks Realty has achieved the ranking of top 10
offices in all North America consistently since opening. Lisa is very proud of the success of her brokerage, which offers professional real estate services at a very reasonable fee.

Lisa resides in Dartmouth with her husband and two children. Although she takes great pride in the success of her brokerage, her greatest joy is being a mom to her two children. She loves gardening, walking her golden retriever and the outdoors and is an active volunteer with the Girl Guides of Canada, currently as a leader with 1st Brookhouse Rangers and TREX groups.
Lisa was diagnosed with invasive cancer in 2015 and considers herself a cancer thriver/survivor. She actively pursues a natural approach to living with cancer and each morning actively juices fresh organic juices as an addition to her cancer protocol. She is a fierce advocate of organic sustainable living and encourages everyone with cancer to empower them self with the knowledge of the healing power of plants and the benefits of a holistic approach to health.
Before beginning her current path in Real Estate, Melissa was an Entrepreneur with 2 small businesses - a retail winemaking store and an e- Marketing company. In 2003 she started her career in Real Estate working as an office manager for a New Construction Condominium project in Bedford, NS. This gave her a healthy background in both Real Estate Sales and Condo Construction. When that project was complete, she went to work for a busy Halifax Real Estate Brokerage as the Office Admin for a number of years. After enjoying both of these positions and gaining a wealth of Real Estate knowledge, she decided to get her License in 2008. She hasn’t turned back since and enjoys working Full Time as a Real Estate Professional as well as being a Licensed Assistant to Michael Doyle, co-owner of Assist 2 Sell.
Shannon bought her first house at the age of 21, and has been avidly following the local real estate market and buying and selling houses ever since. Shannon has a degree in Adult and Continuing Education and in her previous career spent many years in the training department of a company that truly believed in treating the customer right– a rare find. Shannon brings this commitment to outstanding customer service to her real estate career, along with great communication skills, enthusiasm, and an extensive knowledge of the local real estate market. Shannon is happy to work with buyers and sellers to help them achieve their real estate goals! She currently resides in Mount Uniacke with her husband, son, and a slightly dysfunctional cat.
Joanne has owned and operated a construction company with her husband since 1995. She has also been fascinated with houses and believes that, not only is it an important investment, but it is our safe place. In her business all clients and their houses were treated with the utmost respect and attention. Joanne is also a dedicated mom to her three daughters and son. She has spent many years volunteering and advocating for resources for families in her community of Mount Uniacke, volunteering on many committees and worthwhile projects. She has two dogs and loves to spend time outdoors with them or one of her grandchildren enjoying nature and all it’s wonders. Her Dad was diagnosed with dementia and was able to stay at home until he passed away in 2013. Immediately following her Mom was diagnosed with COPD and passed away in 2018. She committed to doing for them as they had done for her and her family. Joanne has learned so much in her business about homes and homeowners. While raising a family and being involved in the both the joys and challenges that it entails, she has learned a lot about people and priorities and helping and resources. Combined with that experience, and a degree in Interior Redesign and Home Staging, Joanne is excited to enter this amazing and challenging world of real estate and bring her experience and integrity to anyone buying or selling their home.
