Calculation of Savings!
You probably want to know how we calculate these savings (although the calculation and explanation is visible on every page of our site… at the bottom in our disclaimer), we thought it best to explain it front and center so that no one misunderstands this statement!
“Sold seller saved” amounts are calculated by subtracting what the seller actually paid us in commission, including HST, from the amount that the seller would have paid if a 6% commission was paid, plus HST. The comparisons to a 6% commission are for illustrative purposes only – we recognize that sellers may negotiate a different commission.
We know you may be thinking … I can find a Real Estate Agent who will do it for less than 6%…
In 2001 when we opened the very first Assist 2 Sell office in Canada, the usual commission charged by real estate agents in Nova Scotia was 6%. Then (as now) commissions were negotiable and not set by law, but in 2001, 6% was the commission most often seen in the marketplace. As commissions are not always the same, and to keep our data consistent since 2001, we have continued to use 6% as our benchmark for comparison. Even with a lower percentage of 4 or 5%, our flat fee program provides big savings!
We give sellers the opportunity to sell their home for a low flat fee.
