Selling A Home In Winter? Make It A Wonderland!

Winter can be dismal, but don't let that stop you from selling your home!   During the colder months buyers may not be out in full force, so you'll need all the assistance you can get!

Tips To Sell Your Home During Winter

* Remove personal items from view so it’s easier for buyers to imagine they live in your home.

* Light up dark areas by placing battery operated white lights in vases or lanterns.
 
* Show off that fireplace and/or be sure to turn up the heat.

* Open all curtains to let natural light shine through CLEAN windows!

* Be sure the walkways are cleared of all snow and ice.

* Clean all floors of debris (toys, ashes or wood chips, ice melt, boots, clothing, etc.)

* During an open house, bake cookies and serve hot cocoa, place peppermint candies in dishes around the home.
 
* Set out gently scented candles in the bathrooms/laundry room/basement (anywhere that might be smelly otherwise)

* Display framed photos of the outside of your house in spring and summer, especially if outdoor attributes are disguised by snow.

* Use a “Welcome Home” letter to describe local markets, restaurants, and events during the winter and summer seasons.
